SKY PUNDIT GARY Neville admits his optimism about Man United’s season has increased in recent weeks.

Neville cites the emergence of teenage striker Anthony Martial and the Red Devils’ impressive defensive record as big positives from Louis van Gaal’s perspective.

However, he is also reluctant to write off Arsenal, suggesting a potential early Champions League exit could be a blessing in disguise for Arsene Wenger’s men as far as their domestic hopes are concerned.

If he comes out the other side of this it might benefit him in the long run. Similiar happened to Cian Healy in terms of being sidelined and the rest helped his career I reckon. Positive in this hopefully
