USAIN BOLT CRUISED to his third successive gold in the 100m Olympic final, smiling as he crossed the line ahead of Justin Gatlin and Andre De Grasse.

Sinead O’Carroll joins us to talk about the historic moment and how Bolt, who turns 30 next week, makes it look easy to be the fastest man ever.

We also look back at a big weekend in athletics for team Ireland, as Ciara Mageean lost out in a heartbreaking semi-final.

On a more positive note, the Irish women put in strong performances in the marathon yesterday, and Sinead caught up with Cork’s Lizzie Lee afterwards. The 36-year-old mother spoke about the conditions of the race and how proud she was to be an Olympian.

Finally, we look ahead to a huge day for Ireland’s women in Rio, as Annalise Murphy competes in her medal race, Sara Tracey lines out for the steeplechase final, Judy Reynolds mounts Vancouver K for the final time and Katie Taylor gets her gold medal defence under way.

Hotline Rings is available on Soundcloud and iTunes. Tune in tomorrow afternoon for episode eight.
