Wes Hoolahan and Glenn Whelan start in Ireland team to face Moldova

Martin O’Neill has made two enforced changes from Thursday’s win over Georgia.

WES HOOLAHAN AND Glenn Whelan have both been recalled for Ireland’s World Cup qualifier with Moldova.

The pair, who did not start against Georgia on Thursday, come in for the suspended Jeff Hendrick and the injured Robbie Brady.

The team is otherwise unchanged, with Shane Long starting up front despite hobbling off in the dying moments against the Georgians, while manager Martin O’Neill has kept faith with the inexperienced central defensive pairing of Shane Duffy and Ciaran Clark.

Ireland team to face Moldova - Randolph; Coleman, Clark, Duffy, Ward; Whelan, McCarthy, Hoolahan, McClean, Walters; Long.
