Is this the man Arsenal want as their high-profile summer signing?

Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan is Arsene Wenger’s principal target, according to reports.

ARSENAL ARE WEIGHING up a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to the latest reports.

The Guardian claim that Arsene Wenger is a fan of the Armenian attacker and that the club have been scouting him heavily.

The 27-year-old has come into his own this term after struggling in his first two seasons with the Bundesliga side.

Joining from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013 for £23.5m, Mkhitaryan initially found the going tough owing to the the expectation that accompanied the price tag but has since blossomed under Thomas Tuchel.

He’s scored fifteen times this term and added a further fourteen assists as Dortmund continue to reel in Bayern Munich at the top of the table.

His current contract expires in 2017.

In Tuchel’s usual 4-2-3-1 (the regular formation used by Wenger too), Mykhitaryan is normally one of the wide players in the front three with Marco Reus on the other side and Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang the main goal threat through the middle.
