HARRY REDKNAPP IS set for a permanent return to football management after the 70-year-old reportedly agreed a deal to stay on at Birmingham City next season.
Redknapp guided the Blues to survival last weekend after succeeding Gianfranco Zola at the helm following the Italian’s resignation in mid-April.
The former Spurs and Portsmouth boss was given the task of taking charge for Birmingham’s final three games of the season and the Redknapp effect did just the trick.

Despite losing a Birmingham derby 1-0 to Aston Villa in his first game in charge, successive victories against Huddersfield Town and Bristol City saved the Blues from dropping to England’s third tier, Blackburn Rovers going down on a dramatic final day.
Redknapp had previously indicated his interest in continuing in the role next season but that was dependent on a number of conditions, including the size of his transfer budget.
After having talks with club owners Trillion Trophy Asia, Redknapp’s role as manager for the 2017/18 season has been confirmed, according to numerous reports from English media.
Let the transfer rumours commence. Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjcar have already been heavily backed by punters to join their former boss at Birmingham.
The Blues have also appointed Jeff Vetere as director of football for next season. The former Real Madrid scout will focus on recruitment, coaching and technical aspects.
