The moment Mamuka Gorgodze is named man-of-the-match against New Zealand is brilliant

“A dream come true.”

MAMUKA GORGODZE HAS endeared himself to rugby fans with some inspired performances throughout this World Cup and the Georgian captain was part of another memorable moment last night.

The eastern Europeans produced a valiant display against New Zealand at the Millennium Stadium and while the final score suggested it was a stroll in the park for the All Blacks, it was far from it.

Led passionately by Gorgodze, Milton Haig’s side did their country proud on the biggest stage and the talismanic number 8 was given a standing ovation as he left the pitch shortly before the end.

Such was his impact and level of performance, Gorgodze was named man-of-the-match and the moment he finds out over the stadium tannoy is all kinds of brilliant.

Speaking afterwards, the 31-year-old admitted getting the chance to play against the mighty All Blacks at a World Cup was a dream in itself but picking up the man-of-the-match award was particularly special.
