Good news for Dundalk as Zenit overcome Maccabi

The result means Stephen Kenny’s side stay second in Group D.

DUNDALK RECEIVED A big boost ahead of their Europa League clash with AZ Alkmaar this evening.

Zenit, who have already qualified and will finish top of Group D, earned a 2-0 victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The result means Dundalk stay second, level on four points with Maccabi but with a better head-to-head record and a game in hand.

The outcome is also potentially good news for Dundalk’s opponents AZ, who could now go second with a win, which would leave them on five points, at Tallaght Stadium tonight.
