THE GOLDEN STATE Warriors made NBA history on Wednesday by setting the single-season record for wins with their 73rd of the campaign, beating the mark set by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls with a 125-104 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.
In addition to now owning the best winning percentage of all time, the Warriors also set a host of other eye-catching records in an incredible campaign they hope will end in a second straight NBA title.
Here we look at the numbers from Golden State’s sensational season.
34-7
Golden State went 34-7 on their travels this term and own the best single-season away record in NBA history, overhauling the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers (31-7).
39-2
The Warriors’ home record of 39-2 is the third-best in league history, the San Antonio Spurs tied the 1985-86 Boston Celtics’ all-time record with a 40-1 mark on their own court this season. Golden State was the only team to beat the Spurs on the road.

An unstoppable offensive juggernaut, the Warriors topped the 1995-96 Bulls in field-goal percentage (48.7), three-point percentage (41.6) and points scored per game (114.9). Chicago ended the 1995-96 season with a field-goal percentage of 47.8, a three-point percentage of 40.3 and scored 105.2 points per game.

But the Bulls allowed only 92.9 points per game compared to 104.1 by the Warriors and had a better average point differential (plus 12.3 to plus 10.8)

Reigning MVP Curry ended the season with a better field-goal (50.4) and three-point percentage (45.4) than Michael Jordan (49.5 and 42.7) did in 1995-96. Curry also averaged more assists per game (6.7 to 4.3)

However, Jordan’s points-per-game mark (30.4) was superior to that of Curry (30.1). The Bulls legend also averaged 6.6 rebounds per game to Curry’s 5.4.

Curry became just the seventh player to end a season with a field-goal percentage of at least 50, a three-point percentage of at least 40 and a free-throw percentage of at least 90. Larry Bird, Mark Price, Reggie Miller, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, and Kevin Durant are the six other players in the 50-40-90 club.
