The new Fifa president enjoyed a kick around with a host of football legends on his first day

Sure it’s all fun and games at Fifa HQ.

NEW FIFA PRESIDENT Gianni Infantino marked his first day in office with a kick around with a host of football legends in Zurich earlier.

The 45-year-old, who was elected as Sepp Blatter’s successor on Friday, hosted a seven-a-side tournament with a difference at Fifa HQ today.

Four teams, comprising of some of the biggest names to play the game, togged out to herald the beginning of Infatino’s reign as the head of football’s governing body.

Fabio Cannavaro, Deco, Luis Figo, Fernando Hierro, Paolo Maldini, Geremi, Robert Pires, Clarence Seedorf and Andriy Shevchenko were among those who took part, alongside members of Fifa’s staff.

Former England and AC Milan boss Fabio Capello was present as coach, while Infantino captained a side that included Figo, Michel Salgado and Maldini.

“Football is back at Fifa, and Fifa is back in football,” Infantino said, standing on the pitch in his football kit.

“As of today, I’d like that when we speak about Fifa, we speak about football. That’s why I arranged these games today.”
