'Living in Los Angeles has been a privilege' - Gerrard hints he is set to leave LA Galaxy

The Liverpool legend has also paid tribute to former Irish international Stephen McPhail.

STEVEN GERRARD APPEARS to have confirmed his imminent departure from the LA Galaxy by thanking the club’s fans in an Instagram post.

The Galaxy play their final regular-season game of the 2016 campaign on Sunday before the MLS playoffs kick-off.

And it appears the Liverpool legend’s second attempt to win the MLS Cup will be his last before a potential return to Europe or retirement.

Gerrard wrote: “Living in Los Angeles and playing for the great Galaxy supporters has been a privilege,” he wrote on Saturday.

“You have made this place feel like home to me. This city and this club will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you.”

Gerrard also paid tribute to former Irish international Stephen McPhail, who announced his retirement earlier today, writing: “Had many great battles with this fella over the years. Good luck with your retirement. #stephenmcphail”
