Germany's team hotel evacuated following bomb threat

The world champions are in Paris for a friendly.

GERMANY’S TEAM HOTEL in Paris was evacuated this morning following a bomb threat, the national team’s general manager Oliver Bierhoff has confirmed.

The world champions are in the capital to take on France in a friendly, with Bierhoff confirming the news to German newspaper Express.

“There was a bomb threat. The hotel has been widely cordoned off and evacuated,” the former striker said.

The German squad arrived on Thursday and trained at the Stade de France – the venue for Friday’s clash with the Euro 2016 hosts.

Joachim Low’s side were staying at the Hotel Molitor on the Rue Nungesser et Coli.

DFB security officer Hendrik Grosse Lefert told the DPA news agency: “The French police informed us that an anonymous bomb threat has been received.

“Together with my colleagues, we have decided to leave the hotel at short notice.”
