Ireland's group rivals Austria earn hard-fought win in Tbilisi

Elsewhere in the group, Wales face Moldova later tonight.

IRELAND’S GROUP D rivals Austria picked up a hard-fought 2-1 win over Georgia in Tbilisi tonight.

First-half goals from Martin Hinteregger and Marc Janko were enough for the visitors to prevail, as Jano Ananidze’s 78th-minute strike proved to be little more than a consolation.

Ireland are set to take on Serbia later this evening, while elsewhere in the group, Wales face Moldova.
