SKY SPORTS HAVE confirmed that Gary Neville is to return to the network’s coverage of the new Premier League season.
The former Manchester United captain quit his TV duties in December of last year when he took over as manager of Spanish side Valencia but he was sacked the following March and, ever since, many have speculated whether he’d return as a pundit.
Having stepped away from the England setup following Roy Hodgson’s resignation, Neville has decided to make a comeback.
Sky have struggled to fill the void left by Neville with other analysts – most notably Thierry Henry – struggling to gain the same level of affection with viewers.

Sky have also lost presenter Ed Chamberlin, who has joined ITV’s racing coverage.
So, bringing Neville back made sense.
Well-respected and well-regarded, he’ll be reunited with Jamie Carragher for the must-watch Monday Night Soccer show, with the pair set to dissect the weekend action and offer some astute observations and expert analysis.
Carragher took to social media to have a cheeky dig at the news of Neville’s return but, quite inevitably, the former right-back was quick with a riposte of his own.
Whilst away- I lost a few games but you lost half a million viewers and a presenter!! https://t.co/LdeC7K6517
