Going for Gold - the USA have a new rugby coach
WORCESTER WARRIORS DIRECTOR of rugby, Gary Gold, is set to take over as the new head coach of the USA national team.
The 50-year-old only joined the Premiership outfit in January before steering them clear of relegation.
Because the South African signed a one-year deal in April, he will see out the remainder of this season with Worcester, who are propping up the Premiership with five losses in five outings.
Chairman Bill Bolsover told the BBC he was “disappointed” to see Gold leave but said he “fully understood” his desire to coach at an international level.
The USA have been without a coach since July when New Zealander John Mitchell signed a deal with Super Rugby side the Bulls, becoming the Pretoria franchise’s new executive of rugby.
