GALWAY UNITED GOALKEEPER Conor Winn turned in a man-of-the-match display before Enda Curran hit two vital goals as the Tribesmen posted a vital victory.

Sligo dominated the majority of the opening period, but they were repeatedly denied by Galway goalkeeper Conor Winn as the interval approached.
In the 40th minute Dinny Corcoran forced a fine save from Winn as Galway were being put under severe pressure.
Jennison Myrie-Williams’ resultant corner found Morten Nielsen, and the ball was nudged towards Tim Clancy, but his clever overhead kick was repelled by Winn.
Then on the stroke of half-time another Myrie-Williams delivery located by Clancy, who was again denied by Winn.
Seven minutes after the restart, Winn was called into action once more, clawing away a Nielsen effort, and Corcoran was unable to steer the rebound on target.
Enda Curran put Galway ahead in the 65th minute poking Conor Melody’s shot home as Sligo were stunned.
Curran added an equally opportunistic second on 67 when punishing poor Sligo defending to head the ball over the advancing Richard Brush.
Corcoran narrowed the gap with an 84th minute goal in a crowded area, but Galway didn’t concede again.
