IT’S THAT TIME of the year again.

The Galway races got underway at Ballybrit today with the Harringtons centre stage.

Trainer Jessican and daughter Kate teamed up for a famous win in the feature race of Day 1.

Modem, a 5-1 fancy, took the two-mile Connacht Hotel Qualified Riders’ Handicap.

Wood Breizh was beaten into second in the final stretch with favourite Ted Veale third. Here’s how it looked out west:
