Is this Galway minor's hat-trick in 280 seconds the fastest in an All-Ireland final?

Dessie Conneely made his mark in Belfast last Saturday.

IS THIS THE fastest hat-trick ever scored in an All-Ireland football final?

Marino Institute of Education claimed the Corn na Mac Léinn title in Belfast last weekend and there was no doubting who the star of the show was in their final win.

Dessie Conneely, a Galway minor footballer in 2015, struck 4-2 in Marino’s 5-21 to 1-8 victory over University of Ulster Magee.

And the centrepiece of his exploits was the hat-trick he bagged in the space of 4:40 minutes (280 seconds).

Check out Jerome Quinn’s video which features Conneely’s rapid strikes.

Conneely, from the Moycullen club, is no stranger to hitting the back of the net as he raised a green flag during Galway’s Connacht minor final win over Sligo last summer.
