These are the 6 nominees for the latest GAA player of the month awards but who gets your vote?

Dublin, Mayo and Tipperary players are in the running.

THE NOMINEES FOR the latest GAA-GPA Opel player of the month awards have been revealed with Dublin and Mayo players contesting the football awards while it’s an all-Tipperary selection on the hurling front.

The awards are for the month of September but also take in last Saturday’s football final replay which took place on 1 October.

Dublin’s powerful midfielder Brian Fenton, Mayo’s explosive wing-back Patrick Durcan and Dublin’s man-of-the-match in the replay Michael Fitzsimons are in the shout for the football accolade.

While in the hurling it’s a trio of Tipperary players selection with Seamus Callanan, John McGrath and Ronan Maher all in the running.

Callanan hit a sensational tally of 0-13 – with 0-9 from play – in the final win over Kilkenny while John McGrath fired 1-3 in the same game. Maher superbly anchored Tipperary’s defence in the same match.
