McManamon enjoyed an impressive month. He struck 0-2 for Dublin en route to winning man-of-the-match against Kerry last Sunday while also starring in the quarter-final against Donegal.

Higgins was central to Mayo's victories over Tyrone and Tipperary in August while Geaney shot 1-4 in a superb showing in the epic semi-final against Dublin.

In hurling, Austin Gleeson scored 1-6 over the course of their two-game semi-final saga against Kilkenny while Richie Hogan hit 0-8 for the Cats in those matches.

And Maher's defensive play was vital to the Tipperary cause as they saw off Galway in their semi-final clash.

The winners will be announced on Wednesday 7 September.
