'The next Pele' is now promoting nightclubs after failing to find a new team

Freddy Adu, we hardly knew you.

IN SOMEONE’S DECADE old edition of Football Manager, Freddy Adu is after picking up his fifth Ballon D’Or and on his way to another Champions League win with Real Madrid.

In real life, however, the 25-year old’s once-promising career looks to be as good as over after turning to nightclub promoting.

Dubbed ‘the next Pele,’ Adu has been without a club since being released by FK Jagodina in Serbia and on Thursday was announced as the host for a club night in Washington DC.

Despite making his debut as a 14-year old, Adu has only made 174 appearances since 2004 despite playing for no fewer than 10 clubs. Indeed, since bagging 24 goals in his first two seasons, Adu has managed just 14 in the last 11.
