IN HIS FOURTH appearance for New York City in the MLS, Frank Lampard finally got on the scoresheet tonight.
The former Chelsea midfielder gave his side the lead in the 20th minute of their game against Toronto FC at Yankee Stadium, despite scuffing his shot into the ground having been excellently set up by RJ Allen after a nice ball over the top by Andrea Pirlo.
Patrick Mullins, who was starting in place of the injured David Villa, tried to claim the goal but the replays seemed to suggest that Mullins didn’t make any contact with the ball before it crossed the line.
