WE’RE INTO THE final fortnight in the build-up to the eagerly-anticipated meeting of Belfast’s Carl Frampton and Englishman Scott Quigg.

Following a long-running rivalry, the pair will finally settle their differences at the Manchester Arena on Saturday, 27 February, when IBF super-bantamweight champion Frampton faces Quigg, the reigning WBA super-bantamweight title-holder.

Last night, Sky Sports ramped up the hype for the fight by broadcasting an episode of ‘The Gloves Are Off’, during which Frampton and Quigg traded verbal blows, with Johnny Nelson chairing the discussion.

Both fighters accused each other of avoiding the fight over the years, and although the discussion never threatened to boil over, the atmosphere was tense between the two bitter rivals.
