Bad news, fight fans! Frampton v Quigg will be live and exclusive on Sky Sports Box Office

Belfast native’s previous title defences were screened free to millions on terrestrial TV.

FIGHT FANS WILL have to pay up if they want to watch Carl Frampton’s eagerly-anticipated clash with Scott Quigg from the comfort of their own homes.

The world super-bantamweight champions are set to meet in Manchester on 27 February for a unification showdown.

And it was confirmed this morning that the sold-out fight will be shown exclusively on Sky Sports Box Office.

Tickets were snapped up within 10 minutes of going on sale as IBF champ Frampton and WBA regular belt holder Quigg finally agreed to face off.

Both men are unbeaten with Frampton’s record standing at 21-0 while Quigg has racked up 33 pro wins without defeat.

The move to pay-per-view marks a shift for Frampton whose previous title defences against Chris Avalos and Alejandro Gonzalez Jr were screened free to millions on terrestrial TV.

Irish fans can expect to pay €21.95 if they order the fight in advance — the price charged for Sky’s recent PPV bills featuring Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko, and Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte.

But fans who wait until fight night to order via phone could pay more than €26.95 to see the action.
