SCOTLAND HAVE BEEN given a massive boost ahead of their World Cup quarter-final at Twickenham with Australia tomorrow as forwards Ross Ford and Jonny Gray have had their three-week bans overturned on appeal.
The hooker (Ford) and lock were punished by World Rugby earlier this week for an alleged two-man tip tackle on Jack Lam during last weekend’s game with Samoa.
A spokesperson for Scotland said, at the time of the suspension, that Vern Cotter’s side were “disappointed” with the ruling and indicated they would appeal.

And today, that appeal was successful leaving the pair free to play in the remainder of Scotland’s World Cup campaign.
