We now know the pairings for the first two All-Ireland football quarter-finals

They’re set for a double header at Croke Park a week tomorrow.

TWO OF THE four All-Ireland senior football quarter-finals for 2015 have now been set following today’s action in the final phase of the qualifiers.

Both Fermanagh and Kildare produced superb performances to book their places in the last eight of this year’s championship.

This evening at Semple Stadium, Kildare staged a big upset by comprehensively defeating beaten Munster finalists Cork by 1-21 to 1-13.

Earlier in the day, Fermanagh ran out nine-point winners over Westmeath at Kingspan Breffni Park on a 1-13 to 0-7 scoreline.

Kildare have already played against Dublin in this year’s campaign, so with the GAA seeking to avoid repeat pairings where possible, the Lilywhites will automatically go on to face reigning All-Ireland champions Kerry at Croke Park a week on Sunday.

Forming what’s expected to be the second part of a double header at GAA headquarters on Sunday, 2 August, Fermanagh will take on Leinster champions Dublin.
