This stunning Roscommon goal needs to be watched again and again

Midfielder Fintan Cregg produced a moment of magic in today’s All-Ireland quarter-final against Mayo.

THE ALL-IRELAND SFC quarter-final between Mayo and Roscommon has been an intriguing watch thus far, and it looks as though we have witnessed a strong candidate for goal of the year.

Roscommon made the stronger start in the inclement conditions at Croke Park, thanks in large part to a terrific goal from midfielder Fintan Cregg.

After getting on the end of a perfectly weighted pass from Ciarán Murtagh, Cregg lobbed the ball over the glove of Mayo keeper David Clarke to send it into the net.

It was a superb piece of skill inside the opening 10 minutes of the tie. And judging by his movement in the build-up, he knew exactly what he was doing when he took the shot.

Here it is for you to enjoy in all its glory.
