Chelsea defender's 40-yard own-goal in the Eredivisie needs to be seen to be believed

On loan defender Fankaty Dabo managed to lob his own goalkeeper from distance.

YOU MAY NOT have heard of Fankaty Dabo until now.

The young English defender is one of 33 players Chelsea have farmed out on loan around the world right now.

Dabo joined Dutch side Vitesse on a season-long deal in the summer, and lined out in their Eredivisie trip to FC Groningen yesterday.

The visitors took the lead thanks to a Kasper Larsen own-goal in the first half, but Dabo then levelled it up for the opposing side with a comical error.

Under some pressure, the full-back attempted a back-pass to his goalkeeper Jeroen Houwen but instead sent a 40-yard lob over his head and into the back of the net.

Unfortunately for Dabo, Groningen went on to win 4-2.
