ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC, the reigning FAI Cup holders, will begin their quest to retain the trophy against Dublin rivals Shamrock Rovers later this month.

The draw for the second round of the competition was made this evening at the Aviva Stadium, with the meeting of Pat’s and Rovers one of only two all-Premier Division contests to look forward to. The other top-tier tie will see Bray Wanderers play host to Limerick.

Among the other notable fixtures that came out of the hat, last year’s beaten finalists Derry City will travel to Offaly to take on non-league Edenderry Town, Premier Division champions Dundalk will host Shelbourne, Cork City will travel to play First Division Wexford Youths, and Bohemians will welcome Firhouse Clover to Dalymount Park.
