'Every time I open my gear bag or locker, I pull out a potato'

Former Munster and Ireland lock Donncha O’Callaghan opens up on life at Worcester, horsing around and some novel uses for his autobiography.

DONNCHA O’CALLAGHAN can’t escape the Irish stereotypes at his new club Worcester Warriors.

In a golden interview with BT Sport he has revealed how he is the butt of the jokes in the English dressing room; the pranksters repeatedly smuggling a staple of Irish dinners into his locker and gear bag.

“Every time I open my gear bag or locker, I pull out a potato.”

He hasn’t got a chip on his shoulder over the pranks though and no doubt is plotting his revenge – O’Callaghan a renowned practical joker himself.

The big second-row’s 2011 autobiography Joking Apart has also been a great source of entertainment and his team-mates, past and present, have found some novel alternative uses for the book.

If this interview doesn’t make you smile, you’re more than likely made of stone.
