EVERTON AND WATFORD played out a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park, with the newly-promoted Hornets leading for the vast majority of the game.
Miguel Layun put the visitors ahead early on but Ross Barkley levelled up with a stunning strike with 14 minutes on the clock. Seamus Coleman’s cross found Arouna Kone and he laid off to the England midfielder, who blasted into the top corner.
Odion Ighalo put Quique Flores’ men in front again but substitute Kone cancelled that goal out four minutes from time.
