Still hoping to get tickets for the Euros? The resale platform opened today

Tickets for Ireland games could become available at any time between now and the end of March.

IRELAND FANS STILL holding out hope of landing a golden ticket for Euro 2016 may have one last chance.

The Uefa Euro 2016 ticket resale platform opened today, allowing fans who successfully applied for tickets but no longer need them to legally sell them on to others at face value.

Irish fans applied for more than 275,000 tickets for the three Group E games against Sweden, Belgium and Italy.

That number far exceeded the number of tickets available, and the bulk of supporters were left empty-handed.

Resale tickets will be made available on a first come, first served basis. The portal will close at 5pm BST on 31 March.

Heavy traffic when the portal first opened this morning reportedly caused server problems, leaving many fans frustrated.

The site was fully operational at the time of writing, but no tickets were available for Republic of Ireland matches.
