A TIPPERARY HURLING great is next up to receive the Laochra Gael treatment on TG4 next weekend.
Tipperary hurler Eoin Kelly Cathal Noonan Cathal Noonan
Eoin Kelly won two All-Ireland senior medals with Tipperary as well as five Munster senior titles and collected six Allstar awards.
The latter stages of the star attacker’s career were defined by battles with Kilkenny. He speaks of the devastation in the Tipperary camp in 2009.
“I’ve a strong memory of walking in to the dressing-room and seeing Eamonn O’Shea thrown down crying actually in the physios room.”
And then Kelly reveals the elation when they turned the tables twelve months later.
“We outfought them. Our work ethic was second to none that day, we would have went to hell and back to get up the Hogan Stand steps.”
Here’s a taste of what to expect next Sunday when the episode airs at 5.55pm on TG4.
