ELLIOT DALY IS in line to make his England debut in Saturday’s Six Nations contest against Ireland after being included in a 23-man squad.
There have been plenty of calls for the 23-year-old Wasps centre to be handed his chance in an England jersey, but thus far Eddie Jones has resisted the temptation.
However, he has done enough to convince the new coach he is worthy of a place in the squad to take on the reigning champions.

“I have been pleased with the hard work and attitude the squad have shown since Italy,” Jones told the Rugby Football Union’s official website.
“Everyone wants to be on the field on Saturday so there were some tough selection calls.
“Elliot Daly has impressed in training and is now ready to be part of the matchday 23.”
Courtney Lawes drops out of the squad to make way for Daly, meaning Jones will have a five-to-three split on the bench in favour of the forwards having named six among the replacements versus Italy.
The match represents Jones’ first in charge at Twickenham, with his first two fixtures against Scotland and Italy being played away.
Forwards: Dan Cole (Leicester Tigers), Jack Clifford (Harlequins) , Jamie George (Saracens), Dylan Hartley (Northampton Saints), James Haskell (Wasps), Paul Hill (Northampton Saints), Maro Itoje (Saracens), George Kruis (Saracens), Joe Launchbury (Wasps), Joe Marler (Harlequins), Chris Robshaw (Harlequins), Billy Vunipola (Saracens), Mako Vunipola (Saracens).
Backs: Mike Brown (Harlequins), Danny Care (Harlequins), Elliot Daly (Wasps), Owen Farrell (Saracens), George Ford (Bath Rugby), Alex Goode (Saracens), Jonathan Joseph (Bath Rugby), Jack Nowell (Exeter Chiefs), Anthony Watson (Bath Rugby), Ben Youngs (Leicester Tigers).
