Ed Chamberlin will be the new face of ITV's horse racing coverage

Monday Night Football presenter switches to terrestrial TV.

SKY SPORTS FOOTBALL presenter Ed Chamberlin will be the face of ITV Racing when their coverage begins next year.

Chamberlin, who is best known for presenting Sky’s flagship Monday Night Football show, leaves the broadcasting giant after 16 years.

“It was hard to leave but this opportunity was too good to miss,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

ITV snapped up exclusive British horse racing rights on a four-year deal which begins in January 2017, moving the sport away from its established home on Channel 4.

Before moving into broadcasting, Chamberlin worked for Ladbrokes compiling horse racing and cricket odds.

His MNF colleague Jamie Carragher paid a tongue-in-cheek tribute and said: “Gutted to see @chamberlinsport move on but he’s taught me a lot, hopefully I can put it into practice.

“Can’t be that hard reading autocue!”
