EAMON DUNPHY NEVER forgets. The RTÉ pundit had his knives well and truly out for Jose Mourinho and English football last night after watching Chelsea crash out of the Champions League at the hands (or heads) of PSG.
Of course, Dunpny isn’t a lone wolf, he and John Giles work as a team, with the latter prizing open an argument with a withering assessment before Dunphy delivers the coup de grace.
Here’s Dunphy’s initial post-match view on the sorry state of English clubs in Europe.
However, it was when Giles was tagged in that the sparks really began to fly as the Leeds United legend branded Mourinho evil to the audible surprise of Darragh Maloney in the below video posted by Balls.ie.
“As soon as Ibrahimovic committed the foul you could see the players around him to get him sent off. He’s been a great coach, but an evil presence in many ways,” said Giles.
That was Dunphy’s cue to strike, and he brought in the highlights of Mourinho’s many misdemeanours – from Anders Frisk to Stephen Hunt and Tito Vilanova – to illustrate his point.
“Cheating, encouraging cheating – things like that can constitute a malaise on the game, a cancer if you like.”
Dunphy and Giles used the full rap sheet to slam 'cancer' and 'evil' Jose Mourinho
