Dubs spread Christmas cheer on charity visit

Jim Gavin, backroom staff and panel members help pack 3,000 parcels for the homeless.

THEY MIGHTN’T GIVE much away on the field but some of Dublin’s All-Ireland winning footballers have shown their charitable side off of it.

Jim Gavin, some of his backroom staff and a number of panel members, including Paul Flynn and Paddy Andrews, have been busy helping to pack 3,000 parcels for the homeless at the Capuchin Day Centre on Bow Street in the capital.

Brother Kevin Crowley was most grateful to Gavin and his Dublin panel for lending a hand at what is a difficult time of year for many.

The centre is no stranger to the Dubs as full-back Rory O’Carroll is a regular volunteer and the Kilmacud Crokes man also brought Sam Maguire along for a visit earlier this year.

Thanks to Fr Robert McCabe for the video.
