Anthony Daly received a boost before the start of the league campaign as his Dublin side defeated Wexford in this afternoon’s Walsh Cup final.
In a clash played at Bellefield in Enniscorthy, Dublin produced a burst before half-time that was integral to their victory.
David O’Callaghan raised the only goal of the game during that time frame as they lead by 1-9 to 0-6 at the interval. The teams had been tied at 0-6 apiece in the 28th minute before Dublin registered 1-3 without reply before the break.
In the second-half Dublin kept their opponents at a distance with Paul Ryan prolific in front of goal and Danny Sutcliffe also shining in that regard.

However Dublin held on for glory on a day when it also emerged that Daly has added former Clare hurler Tony Griffin to his back room team.
