James McCarthy drops out as Jim Gavin names Dublin team for tomorrow's Leinster final

The Dubs are bidding to win their sixth successive provincial crown.

DUBLIN MANAGER JIM Gavin has named his team for tomorrow’s Leinster senior football championship final against Westmeath at Croke Park.

The side shows two changes in personnel from the one which comfortably dispatched Meath in last month’s semi-final.

In a surprise change at wing back, James McCarthy drops out with St Peregrines’ Eric Lowndes set to start.

In midfield, Michael Darragh Macauley gets the nod after replacing Denis Bastick at half-time of the 10-point win last time out.

Dublin are bidding to become just the fourth team in history to win six successive Leinster titles. The feat hasn’t been achieved since the Dubs reigned supreme between 1974-79.

Throw-in at Croke Park is at 4pm.
