Sub: Dublin have lost defender Sinead Finnegan through injury with Deirdre Murphy coming in to replace her.
Dublin 1-6 Mayo 0-6
Back to a three-point game again. McEvoy lobs over a point after the hard yards were made by Lyndsey Davey.
Penalty to Dublin!
Mayo goalkeeper Aisling Tarpey saves the Dublin penalty!
Aisling Tarpey is the Mayo hero just moments after being brought on in goal after Yvonne Byrne was sent to the sin bin for a foul on Sinead Aherne. Tarpey did well to tip Aherneโs penalty away and Mayo cleared.
Mayo down to 13 players and Dublin fail to capitalise with Carla Rowe shooting wide.
What a let off for Mayo! Noelle Healy races through and it looks like she was fouled close to goal. She got the shot away but the ball hits the upright as Mayo clear. Should that have been a penalty?

And that could be the key moment! Theyโve threatened a second goal all through the second half and itโs finally arrived. Carla Rowe burst through and despite being fouled, advantage was played allowing her to release the substitute McCaffrey, who blasted the ball to the roof of the net.
Goal for Dublin from Carla Rowe!
Dublin 3-11 Mayo 0-10

Dublin 4-11 Mayo 0-10
A kickout from Mayo goes astray and after Noelle Healy intercepted, she raced forward and played the ball across for McCaffrey to have the simple task of palming the ball to the net.
Full-Time: Dublin 4-11 Mayo 0-11 โ Dublin are champions!
After three final losses in a row, Dublin get to taste success as they make up for recent disappointments. It was comprehensive in the end but Mayo challenged them for long stages. Better team won in the finish, Dublin more clinical in front of goal. Thanks for joining us for todayโs decider.

Cโmon Dublin.
Cโmon mayo
BAC Abu
@Frank Cauldhame: BAC arenโt playing.
@Frank Cauldhame: WTF ?
@Frank Cauldhame: Baile รtha Cliath is the city. รth Cliath is the county.
@Leadog: I can be a right pedantic cn*t myself at times, lol, but in fairness either or usual does the trick when referring to โDublinโ as gaeilge ;-
0
@Frank Cauldhame: sorry frank, Iโm having an idle Sunday.
@Frank Cauldhame:
Hah, me too but its impossible in my house right now.
@Leadog: Good for you, Iโm trying to get some work done but canโt get my head into it. Ah wellโฆ :-)
Come on Mayo
FFS. The keeper was nearly beside the kicker for that penalty she was so far off her line.
Tiocfaidh รกr lรก
Cora Staunton up to Cillian OโConnor level of bottling it by the looks of it. Must be something in the water up that way
Come on you girls in blue!!
HT Great game but Dublin should be out of sight at this stage with the goal chances they have had.I have said this before this Mayo team are over physical in the tackle and even downright cynical at times and its no wonder they have two yellow cards at this stage.
Cynical! lol I counted 5 players around Cora at one stage, one dragged her down and no card! Cora playing awful today though
@Dec:Three yellow cards that cynical enough for you lol:-)
@Dec:And should have had a straight red before the end lol
So they want to promote the womens game, They stick on a channel that nobody watches in a language that nobody understands
@Les Boyd: They could also name the cup after a woman! I donโt think Brendan Martin ever played ladies football.
@Les Boyd: They stick it on the channel that has always shown ladies football and available to everyone in the country. What were they thinking?
@Les Boyd: A channel nobody watches? Assume you go to all Dublinโs u21 games then since you donโt watch TG4.
@Les Boyd: actually mouth piece I actually do go with my son and daughter, I also go to alot of the club games dont be so quick to judge when you dont know who your judging
@Les Boyd: Read the comment dope its about promoting the ladies game not about who always shown the game, I dont speak Irish either do 90% of the population and while were on it whats the main tv channel in Ireland if you want to promote something, or are you and the other 50 thumbs up such smug gits you cant figure that one out ,
46+ thousand at game thatโs a fantastic turnout, cmon none of them , ciarrai abu
How was keeper allowed that far off her line for peno? She was practically on top of Aherne by the time she took it, madness
Just saw the replay again. She was about a foot off the line. It was an awful penalty to be honest
@Dec: more than a foot my friend! Poor penalty undoubtedly, but should have been retaken.
I thought it was more initially but watch the replay
@Laura Walsh: Get a grip
Fair result, Dublin backs and keeper were brilliant.
Mayo will have too much for them
@Rochelle: what navigational equipmentโฆ
@Rochelle: You were saying?
@Rochelle: You must feel the right fool, yet again. Lol.
@Rochelle: Comment of the day.
take Staunton off ffs.so bleedn selfish.she wdnt kik it between two telegraph poles
@Michael cunnane: The word โpassโ lost on her
Dublin should have had the game wrapped up by now. Not the best penalty but does the keeper not have to be on her line? Unlucky hitting the post too.
Double for the Dubs !
@Johnny Bravo: Easy! Easy !Easy !
Ref is brutal blowing for a free every few seconds, Dubs missed 3 clear goal chances, should be out of sight.
Mayo missed a lot of chances in the 1st half, primarily through Cora Staunton. Dublin missed a penalty and already two great early 2nd half goal chances โ overall standard of shooting is quite poor.
Cโmon the Mighty Dubs #COYGIB
***sits back and waits on that pr!ck Colm OโRourke to call for the Dublin Ladies team to be split ***
Congrats to Dublin I tipped them very early on this year to win this one and hard luck to Mayo.Dublin deserved it on the day and probably also deserved this one because they have come up short over the last few years against an exceptional Cork side and if this young Mayo team stick at it no doubt their turn will come.
Hope we win by a point
Fantastic result for the girls and the county.. enjoy the partyโฆ
I thought jaysus we were bad. And then I thought about the chances Dublin missed!! Lol! Iโll stick to been disappointed with the lads in the finals!!
