SPORTS FANS IN Dublin are facing a Hallowe’en headache after it was confirmed that the county hurling final will clash directly with the Rugby World Cup final.
Throw-in between St Jude’s and Cuala is at 4pm on 31 October — the same time as the rugby kicks off in front of a massive global television audience.
County boards around the country shifted throw-in times last weekend to avoid going up against Ireland’s quarter-final against Argentina.
But with a Leinster quarter-final against Offaly champions Coolderry looming on 8 November for the winners, the Dublin county board did not have much room for manoeuvre on the date.

The following day, Sunday 1 November, has been reserved for the senior football final.
