And it’s Cork who hit the front. Kevin O’Driscoll, who has started at midfield, tears through the middle and hits over a fine effort.

Early drama! Looked like a penalty for Dublin but the decision was changed and the ball thrown in with Cork winning to counter attack.

Cork land a third point, Paul Kerrigan on target after that swift break upfield.

Four point lead now for Cork. They win a free deep in defence and Ruairi Deane is found in acres of space. He surges upfield and keeps his cool to clip over a score.

Dublin hit the net and it’s wing-back Jack McCaffrey who gets up for the goal. It was an odd one, Paul Mannion passed inside to him and it looked McCaffrey was crowded out initially by the Cork defence but he managed to swivel and slot a low shot past goalkeeper Mark White. Wide then from a free by Cormac Costello from distance.

Brian Fenton gets through a gap in the centre after Brian Howard did the spade work and the Raheny combo yields a point for Fenton.

Cork trim the deficit and it’s a first point of the game for Mark Collins as he converts his opening free of the evening.

Could have been a second Dublin goal there! Again it’s methodical build-up play before Con O’Callaghan explodes through a gap. He blasts a shot over rather than under the bar. Cork counter at the other end with Kerrigan’s third of the evening. They’re not going away from Dublin in this first half.

Dublin show their capacity to punch holes in the Cork rearguard. It’s Michael Darragh MacAuley this time who makes the break and he finds Ciaran Kilkenny who points. Great goal chance for Cork then at the other end but Brian Hurley drills his shot from close range at Cluxton.

So close to a third Dublin goal but Mark White does well to deny John Small who smashed in a shot. The resultant ’45 is kicked by Dean Rock and it sails over.
