Dragons fullback cited for 'dangerous charge' on Stuart Olding

An extremely sore one for the brilliant Ulster back.

DRAGONS FULLBACK CARL Meyer will face a disciplinary committee this week after being cited for alleged foul play on Ulster’s Stuart Olding.

Olding, playing in his second game back after injury o, switched from centre to fullback in the second half of the Friday night game with Stuart McCloskey brought on to help the province to victory.

Olding played 67 minutes, his night ending with this kick-chase brought to s sudden stop by Meyer’s shoulder.

Meyer was not carded for the incident, but has today been cited under Law 10.4 (g): “Dangerous charging. A player must not charge or knock down an opponent carrying the ball without trying to grasp that player.”

Ulster left it late, but eventually sealed the win with a clutch Paddy Jackson penalty shortly after another long-range attempt had bounced back in to play off the top of the bar (from 1.13 of the video below).
