2013 and 2014 Munster champions to face off in Kerry senior football showdown

It’s Dr Crokes against Austin Stacks in the Kingdom.

THE LAST TWO winners of the AIB Munster senior club football championship have been paired together after today’s Round 3 draw in this year’s Kerry senior football championship.

2013 Munster champions Dr Crokes will take on 2014 Munster kingpins Austin Stacks in the glamour clash after the draw that was made this afternoon.

Dr Crokes won four successive Kerry senior football titles between 2010 and 2013 with two of those final wins (2010 and 2013) coming at the expense of Austin Stacks.

The Tralee club bounced back to lift the crown last year with a final replay win over Mid Kerry after a two decade spell without success.

The match will pit Kerry stars Colm Cooper, Johnny Buckley and Fionn Fitzgerald in opposition to Kingdom captain Kieran Donaghy.

2009 champions South Kerry will take on 2012 beaten finalists Dingle while James O’Donoghue’s Legion will go up against 2007 kingpins Feale Rangers.

The games will take places on the weekend of 11-12 July.
