A nephew of ex-Donegal boss Brian McIver, Corey was interviewed for the position in 2014, when Gallagher got the job, while he also applied for the role in Derry in 2012.
Barrett was manager of the Donegal minors for the past two seasons, while McDaid led Michael Murphy’s Glenswilly to three county titles since 2011.
Donegal have put together a five-person selection committee and interviews are expected to be held in the coming week.
