Want to feel old? Shaun Wright-Phillips' son, grandson of Ian Wright, called up to England U16s

Teenager D’Margio is part of Manchester City’s academy.

THERE’S NOTHING LIKE hearing that the son of a footballer you remember watching in his pomp is carving out a career in the game to make you feel old.

Well if you think that’s bad, let this sink in for a minute.

16-year-old D’Margio Wright-Phillips has followed in the footsteps of his father, Shaun, and grandfather Ian Wright.

The teenager is one of five Manchester City academy players to be called into the England U16 squad for the Montaigu Tournament in France next month.

Shaun, now 35, plays in the States with United Soccer League outfit Phoenix Rising. The ex-England winger began his professional career at Man City — after being released by Nottingham Forest as a youngster — and went on to line out for Chelsea, Queens Park Rangers and New York Red Bulls.

Half-brother Bradley is still on the books of the Red Bulls, while Ian — who adopted Shaun when he married his mother — was an Arsenal legend who also had spells with Crystal Palace, West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Celtic and Burnley.
