Dingle win Kerry senior club title against Dr Crokes and St Brigid's exit in Roscommon

It was a busy day of senior club football action around the country.

DINGLE CLAIMED THE Kerry senior club football title and 2013 All-Ireland club champions St Brigid’s six-in-a-row Roscommon dream ended.

Those were some of the main talking points on a busy day of senior club football action around the country.

Goals from Kerry senior Paul Geaney and Cathal Bambury helped Dingle see off Dr Crokes by four points in the Kerry senior club football decider.

While the main county championship action in Kerry starts next week, today’s victory means Dingle will represent the Kingdom in Munster if a divisional team wins the Kerry championship or if they go on to win the county title themselves.

In Roscommon there was a big shock as ex-Dublin star Paul Curran mastermind Clann na Gael’s two-point win over St Brigid’s, the dominant player in the county in recent years. Clann na Gael will now advance to face Padraig Pearses in the final.

Elsewhere today Cooraclare’s goal scoring power saw them set up a Clare county final against St Joseph’s Miltown-Malbay.

The Offaly decider will be contested by Edenderry and Rhode while the Westmeath final will see Castledaly face St Loman’s. The Leitrim final between Glencar-Manorhamilton and Mohill must go to a replay.

It was also a good day for Armagh Harps (Armagh), Kingscourt (Cavan), Coleraine (Derry), Naomh Conaill (Donegal) and Trillick (Tyrone) as they secured county senior final spots.
