BRIAN O’DRISCOLL PUCKING around in Donnybrook, Paul McGrath hurling in Wexford and Diarmuid ‘Gizzy’ Lyng swinging a hurley in several exotic locations around the globe.
It’s all part of ‘Hurling around the world’ a brilliant video that the former Wexford hurler has put together as part of the launch this week of ‘World Sports Team’.
He’s roped in a huge number of GAA stars like Shane McNaughton (Antrim), Joe Canning (Galway), Brendan Bugler (Clare), Stephen Lucey (Limerick), Paul Galvin (Kerry), Sean Óg Ó hAilpín (Cork), Anna Geary (Cork), Eddie Brennan (Kilkenny), Stephen Molumphy (Waterford), Claire O’Connor (Wexford), Noel McGrath (Tipperary), Shane Dooley (Offaly) and Liam Rushe (Dublin).
Starting at Croke Park, the video then goes to Lyng’s home club of St Martin’s in Wexford before going to the Cliffs of Moher, New York, Washington DC, Las Vegas, Bangkok, China, Tibet, the Himalayas, Everest Base Camp, St Petersburg, Berlin, Rome, the Basque region in Spain, Liverpool, Zurich, Vietnam, Cambodia, Melbourne, London and various locations around Ireland.
‘World Sports Team’ is a volunteer-driven non-profit organisation which seeks to provide support for sportspeople across the world who suffer debilitating injuries through sport.
