ANDERSON SILVA IS currently serving a suspension for the use of performance enhancing drugs, but the UFC middleweight today claimed that he ‘always played clean’.
Silva returned from a year-long injury lay-off last month to defeat Nick Diaz in the main event at UFC 183 in Las Vegas.

However, it later emerged that the former UFC champion failed an out-of-competition test that was taken three weeks before the bout, and another in the immediate aftermath of the win.
The 39-year-old Brazilian is subsequently serving a temporary ban imposed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, with a formal hearing pending.
But in a post released on his Instagram account this morning, Silva strongly protested his innocence and added that he’s working on having his name cleared.
He said: “I always played clean, I was never a cheater. I never used any substances to better my performance in my fights.
“I love what I do and I would never risk what I took so long to build. I think that the hurry some people have to condemn me is unfair.
“I am the one who is most eager to settle this situation. I want those who have always supported me to know that I am still fighting for all the sad happenings of this situation to be cleared.”
