DERRY CITY HAVE confirmed that they will play their Europa League qualifiers at Sligo Rovers’ Showgrounds.
It had been reported previously that Kenny Shiels’ side had been priced out of the move, but Sligo have since substantially reduced the fee for use of its facilities, according to the Derry Journal.
The club currently play their home league matches at Maginn Park in Donegal, with the Brandywell — where they traditionally play — being redeveloped at the minute.
While the work is understood to be ahead of schedule, the stadium will not be ready to host Derry’s European opener on 29 June.
Following last season’s third place finish, Derry City are set to play European football for the first time since the 2014 campaign.
The draw for the first and second qualifying rounds of the Europa League will take place on Monday 19 June.
