IRELAND’S DEFENCE FORCES team may have failed to qualify for the quarter-finals of the CISM World Cup in Oman this weekend, but they made sure to exit the competition in style.

The Irish ran out 6-1 winners over their counterparts from the USA, with Usher Celtic’s Derek Walsh producing a fantastic goal in the 16th minute to open the scoring.

After drawing 1-1 with Mali and losing 3-0 to Qatar in their two previous games, Ireland had to settle for third place in Group C.
